Only 91 pages to go! I will continue to add new pages to the project page so you can read them in sequence here.

This was produced from this original script page:

PANEL 1.

Image of Amy and Bryan in the examination room with a doctor holding a clipboard.  Amy and Bryan look shocked and forlorn.  The doctor looks cold and indifferent.

CAP:

Saturday, May 23, 2009, they found out it was cancer.  The surgeon that would have performed the removal of the growth (and who shall remain nameless) was tasked with the delicate matter of communicating this to Bryan and Amy.

DOCTOR:

You’re basically dead (paraphrased),

PANEL 2.

Closeup of Bryan talking.

BRYAN:

He was more technical than that.

PANEL 3.

Close up of doctor.

DOCTOR:

The cancer is all the way up both sides of the artery that goes through the liver, and it’s inoperable.

You were just dealt a bad hand.

PANEL 4.

Close up of Bryan on the examination table.  Amy can be seen distraught in the background.  This is perhaps an inset panel inside of panel 3.

BRYAN:

How apropos, since we are now in the City of Sin.

CAP:

As Bryan told me this, I couldn’t help but hear the lyrics from the Kenny Rogers tune, “The Gambler” in my head.  “You got to know when to hold ‘em, know when to fold ‘em… Know when to walk away and know when to run.”
