Photos from the CCIRA Conference 2018

This past Thursday through Saturday I attended my first complete the annual CCIRA Educational Conference at the Marriott DTC. Last year I did a Saturday signing at the Book Bar booth, but I didn’t have the opportunity to really experience the whole thing. Well, this year, with the help of the RMC-SCBWI I not only got to participate in the in the weekend, I was put to work! I hosted a panel entitled, “Cartooning for Writers,” where I shared some of my school visit materials with attendees, and even made them participate in various drawing games. Then for most of the rest of the weekend, I drew caricatures of attendees while I talked to them about my book, There’s a Zombie in the Basement, (which were generously being offered for sale at the BookBar, Second Star to the Right, and Boulder Bookstore booths) and the accompanying school visits. I’m happy to say that my reception was overwhelming to say the least, and I’ve been invited back to do caricatures for CCIRA again in a more official capacity next year!
