Before I get to the heart of my announcement, I would like to make you aware of the Mini Comic Con, Saturday, January 28th from 9-2 pm at Landmark Academy at Reunion.
I will be there doing zombie and pony caricatures and signing copies of There’s a Zombie in the Basement. Hope to see some of you there or at the after party at Mad Reads Comics and Books. I will also be doing a reading and participating in the Doodle Fights at the Deer Pile later that evening!
Also, check out my profile and interview on David Bernstein’s blog!
My caricature business has been a real blessing for my freelance art career, but I’ve been in love with writing and illustrating my own comic stories since I was 4 years old, and finding time to work on those projects and make a living has proven difficult. As you can imagine, booking gigs provides me with a rather erratic income stream, but has also provided me with a small, but rabid group of zombiphile fans that have been just newly introduced to my writing via Vincent Price Presents: Zombicatures and There’s a Zombie in the Basement. Something that will help me tremendously with my goal of bringing these projects to life (with the help and input of my Patrons) without starving my family to death is your much-appreciated support. To this end, I’ve launched my Patreon campaign.
With the increasing costs of travel and convention space, and the dilution of the effectiveness of conventions as their numbers increase, I’ve been looking around for a better way to subsidize my writing and help bring my projects to life without starving my family. With a lot of thought and consideration, I look forward to sharing my coming successes with you with the success of my new Patreon campaign.
As my patron partner, you can see Patreon-exclusive content, vote on what things I produce, watch video tutorials of my work, have a voice in the conception and direction of stories, have artwork shipped to you regularly, and even be mentored by me!
Patreon is a crowdfunding platform that lets us support creative types via a pay-what-you-can sliding scale–You can change or cancel your pledge at any time, and gain access to your favorite artists! Find out more here:
While I know you may or may not be in a position to support me financially, you can definitely help me by spreading the word! You can also throw me a bone now and cancel later just to help get me started.
Thanks for the consideration.
